Modern and elegant, the 5-star Hotel Istana towers over Kuala Lumpur, a short 5-minute walk from the shopping areas and a 10-minute walk from the famous Petronas Towers.
This is our "second home" on our second night in Kuala Lumpur.
Our rooms are fully-air conditioned and have large windows overlooking the scenic cityscape of KL. ☺

The breakfast buffet at Taman Sari had a huge range of great-tasting food and the chefs cooked up our eggs as we ordered. ☺

The hotel is immaculate lobby, lounges, rooms, pool area,bar are all spotless,and beautifully maintained, from the minute we walked into the hotel, until we checked out and left the staff were unbelievably friendly warm and always with a welcome and a smile.
There was in the sonket lounge the most amazing service i have ever come across in 20years of travelling, it was the highlight of our stay in K.L. and we REALLY enjoyed our visit there.
The location of the hotel is perfect for all types of visitors,5 mins walk from K.L tower 10mins walk from Petronas towers 5min walk from main shopping strip and taxis permanently outside hotel for trips elsewhere(batu caves zoo negara merdeka square recommended).
The drinks and food is not cheap but not overly expensive but there is a 7eleven across the road if you want cheap soft drinks and snacks for your room or lounge-pool area.
we would go visit Kuala Lumpur again and would stay in this wonderful hotel again.

It was an unforgettable holiday. Istana hotel was definitely a part of it.

Proximity to all the main shopping attractions. Also the service was pretty good; in particular we liked being escorted to the club lounge by a reception member to complete the check-in.

Very quiet rooms, no external noise. Close to all areas of interest. Most courtious staff in 30 years of travelling. Good facilities in room. Sports bar too expensive. Organised good day trips, reasonable price.

This was not our first time staying in Istana hotel. The best part of Istana, they really take seriously of customer feedback from there we can see the difference and improvement in their service - every time we are there the service getting better and better from the bell boy to the management they do it with great service - greetings, smiling faces, willingness to help with sincerity and approachable. Istana will always be our first choice hotel in KL.
