Written after my trip to Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City)...
It was with some sadness that I had to leave Saigon ("Ho Chi") at the end of a long delightful week.
Yes, the streets can be maddening, the language barrier a bit frustrating and the scams a tad annoying.
But try to look beyond the surface and you will find a gentler, more charming side to the city that befits its rather sophisticated thousand-year-old history.
Besides, the food alone is more than enough reason to come.
From street snacks to haute cuisine, there's something to love there, no matter what your taste or budget.
And if there is a pressing reason for you to come to that city, let it be because of the food.
The food there is fantastic!
The food there is fantastic!
I guarantee you...you won't regret it.
(wink, wink) ☺
And if anybody is to ask me what my fondest memory in Ho Chi Minh was ~
it's sitting in a roadside cafe and ordering a really big bowl of Pho (Beef Noodle Soup) and a small cup of thick Vietnamese coffee. ☺
P.S.
As I'm writing this, I'm filled with excitement for my next trip to Saigon (Ho Chi Minh)!
My uncle and I have a business trip scheduled soon.
I intend to have a blast and find time to explore other interesting places I haven't been to.
It is my "wishful thinking", too, to be able to spend a day or two in Hanoi ~ the capital of Vietnam.
"Thank You, Lord!" ♥
