Our dear friend and classmate Muriel Lopez-Wagner was in town
and invited us for a get-together.
I suggested having Filipino food at MELY'S GARDEN RESTAURANT for our dear balikbayan...♥
Thai Lumpia
Adobong Takway
Kangkong
Ginataan
(water spinach cooked in coconut milk and spices)
Kare-Kare
(pork knuckles and vegetable in peanut sauce,
served with homemade "ginamus" [Ilonggo shrimp paste])
Adobabong Alimusan
(catfish cooked in coconut milk)
me and Tita Mely Puey (part-owner of Mely's Garden)
(Tita Mely and I have been friends for a long time. She used to be the "apple of the eye" [wink, wink] of a friend's widower-Dad [who passed away a few years ago] and so, we would bump into each other every now and then... I've been a long-time fan of Tita Mely's delish cooking ~ even during the time her resto was still home-based. I like Tita Mely ~ she is not only a 'foodie' and a good cook, but also "kalog" [fun to be with and full of jokes]. I enjoy her good food and also enjoy our interesting "chika" [tete-a-tete] as well.) ☺
(L-R: Classmates all ~ Lilibeth Angodung
[who arrived late from their 'punong'/fishpond out-of-town but gladly caught up with us!],
"Pandanon Valley Resort" queen Geordelle Espino-Bernardino,
balikbayan beauty Muriel Lopez-Wagner,
and "Yours Truly") ♥♥♥♥
