It was great to see a lot of women make it in these elections,
not only in the local posts,
but most especially for the senatorial race!
I think this may be the first time we will have more than three women in the Senate so that's good to know.
It is also good that there will be a younger group working for the next generation's well-being.
Younger senators and more women should make for a better composition of this body.

Personally, I am very happy to see Senator Grace Poe
~ so young, intelligent, promising and most importantly a very honest person
~ make it to the number one slot.
(Senator Grace Poe-Llamanzares)
They say political elections are a good deal like marriages,
there's no accounting for anyone's taste.
Having said that, I'm quite happy with the outcome of the local elections in my city, Bacolod City.
I'm happy about Councilor Em Ang, Councilor (Atty.)Jocelle Batapa-Sigue and Councilor (Atty.)Ann Marie Palermo.
I voted for these three women because they have integrity.
And they are good and honest persons.
As for the national elections, I'm happy about Bam Aquino (whose entrepreneurial spirit reflects the type of movement needed to motivate the working class), Grace Poe (who made it to the number one slot), and Sonny Angara (son of my husband's friend, former Senator Ed Angara).
Sonny Angara represents all that is good in a modern national leader: intelligence, honor and an august strength.
He is also a big hit with the ladies (check the numerous Twitter gushes on the Harvard alum), earning him JFK-like appeal (without the shadiness).
<wink, wink> ☺
(Senator Juan Edgardo "Sonny" M. Angara)
I would've been more satisfied with the outcome, though, had former Senator Jun Magsaysay and Risa Hontiveros made it, and even Teddy Casino (son of my husband's classmate in UP law school, Atty.Amado Casino) whose integrity somehow compensates for his nit-picking hard-line tendencies.
Generally, the last elections was peaceful and orderly.
And I would say that we Pinoys were committed to exercise our vote despite the rain, despite the extreme heat.
I believe in democracy and the people have spoken.
I hope these officials, regardless of party, fulfill the hopes and aspirations of the Filipino people who elected them.
Our country has so much potential and I really look forward to seeing its continued growth.
