Say "Ni Hao" to the new Mai Pao Tea House! :-)

A good friend invited me to have dinner with her at  Mai Pao
after we attended our prayer meeting together.
It's been awhile I haven't been there...and was pleasantly surprised with the restaurant's new makeover.
They have renovated the interiors and revamped the menu.
The restaurant's interiors showcased vintage Chinese photos,
giving the ambiance of an exotic Chinese home.

Mai Pao
Mai Pao  is one of the two restaurants owned by our kasimanwa/fellow-Bacolodnon
~ "MasterChef Pinoy Edition" judge Chef JP Anglo

Mai Pao  started out as a dimsum resto 11 years ago
and has become one of Bacolod's healthy restaurants
~ having been the first to introduce dishes offering the South Beach Diet.
Just like  Hong Kong Kitchen  (at Robinson's Bacolod),
Mai Pao  also proudly claims that they do not use MSG to add flavor to their food
~ quite rare for a Filipino-Chinese resto (not to use MSG), if I may say so.

These are the dishes we ordered for dinner...

Honey-Soy Glazed Ribs

Fish Fillet with Taosi

Tofu with Straw Mushroom
This was my order and I love it!
'twas deliciously cooked...
the tofu, oh-so-tender.

Mai Pao Fried Rice
And it had Chinese chorizo, too ~ which I missed eating for quite sometime now.

Our dessert:
Kit-Kat Buchi
Satisfied my 'sweet tooth'! ☺

In Bacolod,  Mai Pao  is originally known for their dimsum and siomai offerings.
So I made sure I ordered take-out siomai and dumplings for my hubby & unico hijo. ♥

What do I like most about  Mai Pao?
Great service!
Staff, very friendly and accomodating.
The place ~ cozy, with a relaxed atmosphere.
And of course, the best part:
foods cooked without MSG (monosodium glutamate or "vetsin")!!

I hope you all have a lovely Wednesday.
Thank you for visiting my blog today.
