Authentic Jap dinner at TSUMURA SUSHI BAR & RESTAURANT, Makati ♥

Hidden in the heart of the Makati Central Business District,
lies one of the most authentic Japanese restos
~ TSUMURA.

TSUMURA is known for its well-plated sushi platters and fresh seafood.

It was my 3rd visit here and as always,
I noticed that most of the customers were Japanese nationals!

~I heard TSUMURA was actually a nominee for one of Manila's Best Kept Secrets for Japanese cuisine.
It has gained a following with discriminating foodies singing praises for its fresh and flavorful sushi, sashimi and teppanyaki.

TSUMURA may seem a bit daunting at first with its high prices and quite pricey menu but if you break it down it is quite a good deal.
You get really fresh and quality ingredients for the affordable price.

SALMON SASHIMI
(We ordered both SALMON & TUNA SASHIMI
~ but were only served SALMON because they ran out of TUNA.)

This was my order: UNAJU
UNAGI KABAYAKI
(GRILLED EEL WITH KABAYAKI SAUCE)

Aaahh...UNAGI ~ this dish never fails to make me happy. ♥ (heheh)

YAKIZAKA TEISHOKO
(SABA SHIOYAKI)

CHAWANMUSHI
Literally "tea cup steam" or "steamed in a tea bowl", it is an egg custard dish found in Japan that uses the seeds of ginkgo. Unlike many other custards, it is usually eaten as an appetizer. The custard consists of kamaboko, and boiled shrimp placed into a tea-cup container. The recipe for this dish is similar to that of steamed eggs, but the toppings may often differ.

CHAWANMUSHI can be eaten either hot or cold. When udon is added as an ingredient, it is called odamaki mushi or odamaki udon.

Unusual for a traditional Japanese dish, it is commonly eaten with a spoon (not chopsticks).

our dessert: MACHA ICE CREAM

TSUMURA is definitely a hidden gem in the concrete jungle that is Makati.
The yummy dishes are definitely worth the price we paid for.
I already made a date for coming back on my next Manila trip.
TSUMURA ~ we shall meet again. ♥
