Just clearly shows that no matter how Pinoys claim her as one of their own, she is first and foremost an American.

That's common sense...she is an American with Filipino roots. How can somebody who was born and has grew up in US suddenly would sing our Philippine National Anthem?. This is her WAY of at least showing support and gratitude to the Filipino people. And by the way, she personally met and was thankful to PNOY when our President made his courtesy call in the White House this morning.

It would be an insult to all Americans if she sang the Phil national anthem. By the way, Pinoys should not look at her as less American just because of her Asian looks.

Oh, correction! They met in Hilton Hotel,Los Angeles,CA...yes, definitely, we should not look at her less American but what made her endearing to the Filipino people is her attitude...she has the choice to snob the invite to meet PNOY or to sing in Pacquiao/Bradley fight but she did not...she thanked PNOY and the Filipino people for their support. She is no less an American but Filipinos who are supporting her are just like Filipinos supporting a lot of half-breed showbiz personalities back home in the Philippines.

Not only that, Jessica Sanchez has sang the Star Spangled Banner numerous times in front of mega crowds in NFL games held in Qualcomm stadium, for her hometown team the San Diego Chargers, before she became an AI sensation. And pretty sure, as a natural born U.S. citizen, she's done the pledge of allegiance to the U.S. flag countless of times as a kid in school … She's not a Filipino just like Kristi Yamaguchi is not Japanese.
